The Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic is an annual track & field meet that usually brings most of the South Carolina track & field teams and top competitors to compete in one location. Due to the Covid-19 protocols, this year’s meet was held in several different locations around the state. The Bulldogs Track & Field team competed against several different schools and athletes at Aiken High School which included team like Greenwood, White Knoll, Lexington, Dutch Fork, and more.
Senior Laurie Lamar and seventh grader Fantasia Smith both made it to the 100-meter final, finishing 5th and 6th overall. Smith followed up her performance by finishing 4th overall in the 400-meter run. The girl’s 4×100 meter relay team of Aaliyah Washington, Laurie Lamar, Alexis Bryant, and Fantasia Smith finished 2nd overall with a time of 51.35. The girl’s 4×400 meter relay team finished with a time 4:23.43, a season best for the group. Junior Tiana Cummings finished 6th overall in the long jump.
Senior Khiree Cummings continues to show his dominance in the high jump. Cummings finished in 1st place with a jump of 6 feet 4 inches. Both the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay teams finished in 4th place. Junior Michael Moody finished 2nd overall in the triple jump with his longest jump being 41 feet even. Den’Tavis Morris finished 7th overall in the 200-meter dash and Devontia Dewitt finished 7th overall in the 400-meter dash. Dominick El finished 9th overall in the discuss out of 21 competitors.
Overall the Bulldogs competed well in the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic.
